TITAGARH has organised various Health camps for free health checkups at Titagarh, Barrackpore and Uttarpara near HED where the Company’s plants are situate. A fairly large number of elderly people majority of them women and children have undergone health checkup which included ECG, Blood Sugar, Eye -Test in addition to the routine checkup by a team of doctors and interaction on health awareness.
Associated with Tata Medical Centre, New Town, Kolkata for providing medical interventions to the needy young patients diagnosed with cancer.
Partnered with Shyamali Bhalotia Memorial Trust, a registered charitable trust providing healthcare and meals to children below fifteen years of age.
Titagarh with Disha Foundation and Saroj Gupta Cancer Centre -Research Institute for treatment of one eight year old child- Piyush Chowdhury for cancer. Piyush Choudhury was a normal little boy of eight years till life changed forever for him when he was detected with acute Leukemia in January 2016. Consequently he was admitted to Saroj Gupta Cancer Institute and Research Centre in Thakurpukur in Kolkata. Piyush’s father is an auto-driver with a meagre income of Rs 5000 and his mother, a home maker. He lost his only sister in her infancy when she was 2 months old. When Disha NGO appealed for help for Piyush- Titagarh stepped in with Jeevan Nirog CSR Initiative and took the boy under its wing. Piyush is bravely fighting his battle with cancer and the only thing which keeps him going is his will to return to his school and friends and most importantly home. Piyush has since recovered and returned home.
