The foundry business was the maiden business venture of Titagarh that laid the foundations for the leading rolling stock manufacturer in India. Today, with two large Steel Casting Foundries, Titagarh can manufacture components for the Indian Railways, as well as the International Market, leading the way as manufacturers of crossings in India. From the two foundries, Titagarh churns out cast components like Bogies, Couplers, and Draft Gears etc.
Titagarh further acquired the French leader in cast products Sambre et Meuse in 2015, with both having design credentials and technical expertise of Bogies for Freight Wagons. Sambre et Meuse is a renowned name in the industry for producing extensively used, T-series bogies (for Africa), TY bogies (for Europe), cast variant of Y-25 bogies and Berlingot buffers, to name a few.
The acquisition allowed Titagarh to keep full design flexibility to meet every need of customers from diverse geographies. Truly, this makes Titagarh a transnational powerhouse in end-to-end solutions for the rail freight industry. In the components business, the portfolio comprises of various types of bogies (1000 mm, 1067 mm, 1435 mm and 1676 mm) couplers and draft gears.
