Train control & monitoring system (TCMS) is a heart of any propulsion system. TCMS controls and monitors all the important parameters from line side, motor side and control side of the propulsion. It establishes an interface among other sub-systems like door, brake, and pantograph etc.

It monitors the life signal of all processor cards, if any processor cards fails to respond TCMS in a provided time then it isolates the system and declare it to be dead. TCMS commands other systems to take protective shutdown in case of any malfunction.

TCMS provides the status (healthiness and failure) of the systems and sub-systems in Driver display unit(DDU), even it helps to debug any issue related to sub-system.
